Jamari Brown joined Newmark in 2022 as a Director within the Economic Incentives Advisory and the Economic Development consulting practices, part of Newmark Global Corporate Services.
Brown has a broad understanding of government incentives, and serving client needs and objectives across various requirements, spanning the automotive, financial services, medical device, food manufacturing, information technology, and entertainment industries.
Prior to joining Newmark in 2022, Brown worked as a tenant representation broker for JLL, evaluating buildings for purchase and working on new office startups, office relocation, lease renewal, subleasing and office expansion assignments. Brown also served as the Director of Economic and Community Development for the Nashville Mayor’s Office where he led efforts to recruit and grow businesses, and advance real estate development while aligning workforce and affordable housing development efforts. Additionally, he served as Executive Director of the Metro Nashville Industrial Development Board (IDB).
Based in Nashville, Brown has led 70 client projects that have announced more than 13,000 jobs and investments of $2 billion in Tennessee. These projects were awarded over $150 million in incentives.

Education
Brown holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in Marketing, from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Additional certificates earned include real-estate development and credit analysis (IEDC), project management (UC Irvine), and data analytics (Nashville Software School).
