Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF) is pleased to announce that distinguished commercial real estate producer Bob Chodos will join the firm as executive vice chairman. With more than 33 years of industry experience, Bob is one of the elite tenant representation professionals in the Chicago area. Mr. Chodos will join NGKF’s Chicago office and will focus on growing the NGKF brand in tenant representation and occupier services in the mid-west region and nationally.

Prior to joining NGKF, Mr. Chodos was a principal and executive vice president of Colliers International, where he spent the past eleven years. At Colliers, he was chairman of the Colliers Tenant Rep Practice Group for the Americas, which is made up of more than 55 of Colliers top-tier tenant representatives in over 25 offices around the United States, Canada and Latin America. Prior to joining Colliers in 2005, Mr. Chodos also spent 15 years as a principal with The John Buck Company, in the Strategic Advisory Group, which specialized in strategic consulting and tenant/user representation. He began his career in Chicago in 1980 with Realsource, Inc., formerly known as Irvine Associates. While with Realsource, he was again the leading force behind the Tenant Rep Group. Throughout his career, Mr. Chodos has completed over 13 million square feet in assignments valued at more than $7 billion.

Mr. Chodos has earned many notable achievements throughout his career, which include nine nominations for the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s Chicago Tenant Rep Broker of Year award, as well as winning the award in 1991 and 1997. He was also the winner of the NAIOP Downtown Office Transaction of the Year award in 2012 as well as the Suburban Office Transaction of the Year award in 2005.
Mr. Chodos is active in numerous professional and charitable endeavors. He is a member of SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors’, COLBA (Chicago Office Leasing Brokers Association) and the Economic Club of Chicago. Mr. Chodos is also a member of the board of directors and executive committee for Junior Achievement of Chicago, a non-profit organization that seeks to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in today’s global economy. In addition, he sits on the board of directors for the Chicago Central Area Committee and The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago.
