Newmark Retail has announced that House of Jai has signed a long-term lease at 1456 First Avenue, located between 74th and 75th Streets in the heart of the Upper East Side. The new yoga studio concept has taken 2,360 square feet on the ground floor, which was previously occupied by Blockbuster Video, and an additional 1,800 square feet of lower level space. House of Jai will offer a variety of yoga classes including several that will be customized for children and teens.
Jeffrey D. Roseman, executive vice president and principal, and Amy Zhen, associate, at Newmark Retail, represented the landlord, RFR Realty [Impala Retail Owner LLC]. House of Jai was represented by Joshua Price of Gallery Real Estate.
“While Blockbuster Video put Upper East Side residents on the couch, House of Jai will get them up and moving again,” commented Roseman.
